The face and upper neck are the most commonly affected, but the chest, back and shoulders may have acne as well. The upper arms can also have acne, but lesions found there are often keratosis pilaris, not acne. The typical acne lesions are comedones and inflammatory papules, pustules, and nodules. Some of the large nodules were previously called "cysts" and the term nodulocystic has been used to describe severe cases of inflammatory acne. True cysts are rarely found in acne, and the term should be abandoned and the term severe nodular acne used instead.
Wash yourself thoroughly but gently. Don't scrub. Scrubbing will remove too much of the skin's natural oils causing the skin glands to respond by over-producing skin oil, one of the principal causes of acne. For the same reason dry yourself with a clean towel carefully rather than vigorously. Don't use alcohol based cleaners as these will wipe out the natural skin oils leading the skin glands to react with over-production of skin oil.
By avoiding these types of foods, you can definitely minimize the amount of acne you get on the face. Stick with non-reprocessed foods, and keep junk food to a minimum. It's not necessary to ban these foods from your diet, but eating them every single day definitely isn't doing your body a favor.
